It seems pointless to pay for expensive face creams when the one I have does an excellent job: Jennifer Saunders reveals her beauty secret

Ab Fab actress and comedienne Jennifer Saunders, 53, lives in London and Devon with her husband Adrian Edmondson. They have three daughters, Ella, 26, Beattie, 24, and Freya, 21. Here, she reveals a few of her favourite things…
Ab fab: Jennifer Saunders uses Oil of Olay to stay looking young
SKIN CARE SECRETS
I use the simplest skin care I can
find. The Oil of Olay moisturising day cream that's been around for
decades is a particular favourite.
Anything any more expensive seems
pointless when this does an excellent job. I start my routine with a
basic Clarins cleanser, but those are really the only two products I
I've got a beautiful whippet called Olive, who is the friendliest and most trusting dog I know. I absolutely love her to bits. She just adores to be close to me and cuddles in at every opportunity.
She's always happy to go for long walks with me in Devon, and then falls asleep in front of the fire for the res t of the afternoon.
You wouldn't have me pegged as a lover of country and folk music, would you I started off years ago with Emmylou Harris, which then led me to Dolly Parton, Loretta Lynn, Tammy Wynette, Joni Mitchell, George Jones and Hank Williams. The list goes on!
It's just simple, honest music, without any of the fancy effects that many 'modern' singers and bands seem to rely on.
There is nothing like coming home to the wonderful view from my home in Dartmoor, where we've lived for almost 18 years. The landscape is constantly changing with the seasons, but there's still a sense of familiarity.
There's a large, gnarled tree, and rolling fields as far as the eye can see, which at this time of the year are filled with ewes and lambs. It's just heaven.
I am not naturally a morning person, but if I'm filming and have to be up early to be on set, there's actually something really exciting about that time of day before the world is awake. I wish I could train myself to do it every morning, because I'd clear my work in no time and then have the rest of my day to myself.
Can't live without: Olay has been in Jennifer's beauty regime for decades, while she also can't be without her iPhone
I'd be completely lost without my iPhone. It runs my life – my email, my to-do lists, Twitter, and I store all my photos on it. The useful apps you can get for it really are neverending. I don't know how I ever coped without it.
The family are forever laughing at me given how often I use it. It's become a very Ab Fab moment!
I just love inane computer games . When my children were growing up, they had to beg me to give them back their GameBoy, as I was always playing Super Mario. Now, my little slice of 'me time' is very often spent playing Be jewelled on my iPhone. Given a spare second, I whip it out at any opportunity.
That's entertainment: Jennifer loves Dolly Parton and Harry Hill
Murder and forensics are the only things that keep my interest when I'm reading. My absolute favourite authors are Patricia Cornwell, PD James and Ruth Rendell. The plots are always very clever, and all of them make the crime scene come alive with their evocative descriptions, while the clues don't hammer you over the head (if you'll pardon the pun).
Harry Hill 's TV Burp and Nicholas Parson's Just A Minute comedy game show on Radio 4 make me laugh more than anything else out there at the moment. Harry Hill is a genius – a proper old-fashioned comic, while Radio 4 has some fantastic programming.
