Glancing at Isla Fisher you would have no idea that the svelte actress ever had any beauty or confidence issues.
But in a frank interview with Women's Health the Australian star has revealed how Hollywood rejection almost crushed her spirit, how converting to Judaism for her marriage to comedian Sacha Baron Cohen was a no brainer… and why she won't be having a 'vajacial' anytime soon.
The actress said how, after leaving Australian soap Home And Away and then starring as a bipolar nymphomaniac in Wedding Crashers, she had 12 months of auditioning three times a day in LA without getting any roles.
Beauty secrets: Isla Fisher doesn't pluck, exfoliate or have any 'vajacials' but she does make great use of Spankx
In the interview the actress dispels
rumours she enjoys a 'vajacial' which is a term used for a treatment
that is likened to a facial for a woman's vagina.
Speraking about her painful audition process the 34-year-old said: 'After doing that [Wedding Crashers], I had 12 months where I was auditioning three times a day and I didn’t get a single job. That was a real low point. But with hindsight, those movies turned out to be awful, so I dodged a bullet. If I’d got any of them, I wouldn’t be where I am today.
'I never had the chutzpah to just come to LA and make it. I didn’t have that confidence. I’m always surprised when I get a job. I never saw this in my horizon.'
The tiny actress, who has two children Olive, five, and Elula, two, added that although she watches her weight she never had any issues during her pregnancies, saying: 'I do watch my food.
But I’ve been blessed in that I never had any body issues during pregnancy. I loved being able to eat whatever I wanted and the whole experience of giving life.
Here comes Hollywood: Isla Fisher remains reflective on her success in Hollywood, saying for 12 months she got no roles despite auditioning three times a day
'And I never worried about losing the weight afterwards, because breastfeeding burns all the calories up so fast. Breastfeeding – that’s my big slimming secret! That and Spanx. Anytime anyone compliments me on my figure, I’m wearing my Spanx undies.'
And the flame-haired star revealed she hasn't turned into a typical LA actress, adding: 'I’m not actually very good at the maintenance thing. I don’t buff, exfoliate, pluck, rinse, moisturise, suck, bleach…whatever all those women do. I don’t have vajacials. Have you heard of those It’s like a spa for your vagina!'
Aside from unusual beauty treatments being offered Isla, who is starring as a cocaine addict in latest movie The Bachelorette, revealed there is a huge number of Australians finding fame in the U.S and joked its because of their ability to look good in swimwear.

'We can all do the accent really easily. And we all look great in a bikini. Including Russell Crowe – no one pulls off a bikini like Russell.
'I am sort of friends with them all. I just did a movie with Hugh Jackman [Rise Of The Guardians], and I catch up with Naomi [Watts] whenever I’m in New York,' she added.
And the fiercely private actress even touches on the subject of her marriage, revealing converting to Judaism was a natural step, saying: 'It takes a couple of years of studying. I’ve always been really into family and food, so culturally it was the right fit for me.'
But the quiet star, who had to ask her friends what cocaine was like for her latest role, said her co-stars on the new film are fantastic.
Speaking about Johnny Depp, Isla said: 'He’s like a magical creature – incredibly funny, clever and nice. It’s sort of as if he’s come from another planet.
'And Bill Nighy is very warm, gregarious and very talented. He played the snake in Rango and was hilarious on set.'
