Some women hire a stretch limo and hit the bright lights with their friends covered in fairy wings and L-plates.
Others take their for a nice relaxing spa weekend or maybe a civilised dinner in a five-star restaurant.
And if you”re Lily Allen, you treat your friends to a cookery lesson from a world famous chef.

The singer spent last night celebrating her impending nuptials with a helping hand from celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay.
Someone in her hen party had clearly arranged for the Kitchen Nightmares host as it came as a surprise to the No Fear singer.
She excitedly took to her Twitter page to declare: “I am on my hen, having a cooking lesson with a very special teacher.”

A few moments later, she ended the suspense for her followers and added: “Gordon Ramsay, and he was brilliant. Had no idea, I am a very, very luccky girl.”

It is unclear where the lesson took place, whether it was at Ramsay”shouse or one of his restaurants, but Lily also posed a picture of her next to the chef during the lesson.
In the slightly blurred snap, Lily can be seen with a big smile on her face, holding a glass of red wine with Ramsay to her right.
And her famous tutor took to his Twitter page and wrote a message to Lily that said: “Happy Hen Night. Great night can”t believe I screwed the paste !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Best wishes on the 11th x”
Lily, 26, is getting married to builder Sam Cooper, 32, on June 11 atSt James the Great Church in Cranham, Gloucestershire in front of about100 friends and family.
It is understood that the newlyweds will then throw a lavish reception for 300 in the garden of Lily’s country bolthole near Stroud.
Lily will be wearing a gown designed by Karl Lagerfeldfor Chanel and an insider said: ‘I wouldn’t be surprised if Lily went barefoot in her haute couture.”

Meanwhile, Glastonbury organiser Michael Eavis has revealed that Lily and Sam will spend their first days as husband and wide at the music festival – where they met in 2009.
Michael, who is a friend of Lily”s, is believed to have organised a 1,000 luxury teepee for the newlyweds in the VVIP area.
Speaking to the Mirror, he said: “They”re honeymooning there. I”ll set her up a special tent, she”ll be best treated.
“I”m going to the wedding in Gloucestershire. “I”ve known her since she was about that high. She”s such a star, isn”t she”

But it”s not been all plain sailing for the couple after Lily took to her Twitter page to vent her frustration over planning her wedding.
She wrote: “Tip of the day: don”t ever get married, its a nightmare, and everyone involved (or not as the case may be) turns into a c**t.”
Later, she apologised and added: “All fine now, said c**ts are safely back in their boxes. #itsMYwedding!!!!!!!!!”
