She is the GB poster girl who has become a household name for her incredible performance at the Olympic Games where she took home gold.
And even though the young Royals have been at many of her events to cheer her to glory, the humble golden girl was shocked that Prince William so much as knew her name.
Describing meeting the Royals as 'incredible' the young athlete told Grazia magazine: 'Will said “Hi Jess, how are you” I couldn't believe he knew my name!'
Golden girl Jessica Ennis said the young Royals were lovely and down to earth when she met them
The Sheffield-born 26-year-old counted meeting William, Kate and Harry as one of the highlights of her whole Olympic experience, as well as the feeling she got when she walked out into the Olympic stadium and the glorious moment that she crossed the finish line.
She described the Royals as lovely and down to earth and even shared a joke with the notoriously cheeky Prince Harry.
'He was like, “So there's not a lot of pressure on you, then”' she told the magazine.
Ennis, who smashed her own British heptathlon record with a points tally of 6,955, had been put under a lot of pressure to achieve her goal of taking home gold.
Jessica was amazed that Prince William knew her name when she met him
She maintains that watching Gossip Girl and House box sets kept her calm before the heptathlon.
She is looking forward to indulging in some much-needed girly retail therapy and is going to paint her nails gold and go on a huge celebratory shopping spree.
