How Fern Britton danced away the extra pounds after her stint on Strictly

She may have failed in her attempt to claim the Strictly glitter ball but Fern Britton is still a weight loss winner.
The sequins and spray tan have been replaced by a hooded jumper and leggings, but there was no denying her weeks on the dance floor have left her with a slimmer figure.
Miss Britton, 55, was voted off the BBC show last weekend, despite her efforts to wow viewers with a raunchy salsa routine and a fringed mini-dress.
Dancing off the weight: A slender-looking Fern Britton carries out errands near her home on Wednesday
Free of having to devote hours to dance practice, she caught up with errands near her home in Buckinghamshire yesterday.
She has faced a very public battle with her weight and in 2006 had a gastric band fitted.
The mother of four quit presenting ITV1’s This Morning in 2009.
Married to chef Phil Vickery, her second husband, they have a daughter Winnie, 11.
Miss Britton also has 18-year-old twins, Jack and Harry and a 15-year-old daughter Grace, from her first marriage.
Last night her agent refused to comment on whether she still has a gastric band.
Two former contestants have returned for a Children In Need version of Strictly – dressed as angels.
Widdecombe, who took part in 2010, paired with former partner Anton Du
Beke, and 2011 contestant Russell Grant returned with Flavia Cacace.
Widdecombe said: ‘To reunite with Anton is fantastic, but to do a group
dance with Russell Grant and Flavia Cacace too is even better, it was a
lot of fun to do.’
To see who wins the Strictly special trophy watch Children in Need tomorrow on BBC1 from 7.30pm.
