Hotter than ever! How DO the Spice Girls look better now than they did 15 years ago

The Spice Girls are back. But, to the relief of music-lovers everywhere, they're not releasing a new album, but publicising Viva Forever, an upcoming Jennifer Saunders-penned musical based on the group's songs. And, according to the girls, the cast sing their hits better than they ever did.
Posing on the St Pancras Hotel staircase in London that featured in
the video of their debut single Wannabe, the quintet looked stunning – in fact, far better than they did way back in 1997, when they scaled the charts with Wannabe.
Hot stuff: The Spice Girls (from left to right) Melanie Brown, Melanie Chisholm, Geri Halliwell, Emma Bunton and Victoria Beckham, look better now than they did in 1996
Subtle, natural make-up; soft,
flattering hairstyles; a lot of time in the gym – and a radical style
overhaul since those fashion car-crash early days – mean that the girls all
look far sexier than they did sixteen years ago.
Have they had a little extra help Cosmetic surgeon Dr Alex Karidis thinks not. 'The
girls don't look like they've had any facial work done – they all look in pretty good condition, but you have to remember they are all still fairly young, so that's only to be expected.'
'Victoria has changed considerably since 1997 though – she's lost weight, so her face is thinner. Her nose also looks quite different; it looks like the tip may have changed. Her complexion looks very smooth, which could be helped by the fact she never smiles.
'You can avoid wrinkles by training yourself to sleep on your back and keeping your face as still as possible when you're awake.'
Posh may have looked as dour as ever, but, dressed
in one of her own designs paired with peep-toe Tom Ford boots, with her
hair in a messy, back-combed low ponytail, she looked low-key yet glamorous.

The turbo-WAG of a few years ago has been replaced by one of the most successful women in UK fashion, winner of the Designer Brand of the Year at the 2011 British Fashion
trademark tiger-striped locks are long gone, replaced by a subdued
strawberry blonde 'lob' (that's a long bob). Toned and tanned, she's
never looked healthier – it's a shame her Sugar Plum Fairy-style frock, which she designed herself,
let the sartorial side down.
Sporty's junked the tracksuit, covered up the tattoos and looked soft
and feminine in a flowing, white Acne dress. Scary's gone almost classy: she scraped back her famous corkscrew curls and poured those curves into
sober Lanvin shift – but her aggressively studded courts show she
hasn't entirely lost her edge.
And Baby's grown up – she's
ditched the pigtails, platforms, sequins and sparkles and
looks cuter than ever in a vintage navy mini-dress and statement Brian
Over the last sixteen years, fashion mistakes
have been made; weight and hemlines have yo-yoed; hair extensions have
come and gone – but, finally, it seems they've all found their
fashion groove. Well, apart from Geri. Here, we take a look back
at some of their most, ahem, eye-catching looks.
THE EARLY YEARS
As they were, in the video for Wannabe
A year after their first hit, the girls all look super slim – and it's crop tops all the way

being presented with the award for Best Group
1997: A riot of crushed velvet, sequins and leopard-print, The Spice Girls pose with their Brit Award after the annual pop awards ceremony in London
1997: Viva Las Vegas! Geri goes Elvis, while Victoria's hemlines get shorter, at the Music Awards, MGM Hotel, Las Vegas
WHEN FIVE BECAME FOUR
When five became four: The Spice Girls, minus Geri, at a party to celebrate the release of their third album in 2000. Scary's abs are on show, while Sporty's hiding her figure under baggy jeans and a t-shirt
THE SOLO YEARS
Hell for leather: a solo Victoria Beckham performs on stage in 2001. What on earth would Marc Jacobs say
Now she's sporty: A super skinny Geri Halliwell performing on her own in a 2001 concert
REUNITED AGAIN (BUT NOT FOR LONG…)
2007: At a Victoria's Secret fashion show, the girls give the angels a run for their money. Determined to outshine the world's hottest women, it's sequins galore, a vat of shimmery bronzer and an Angelina leg from Victoria
