How Coronation Street's Catherine Tyldesley blossomed from overweight teenager into glamorous soap star

She's easily up there with some of soapland's sexiest women.
But once upon a time Coronation Street star Catherine Tyldesley was an overweight teenager, who struggled to get noticed.
The 28-year-old actress is unrecognisable from her teenage days, when she was a size 22 and weighed 15 stone.
Worlds apart: Coronation Street actress Catherine Tyldesley has blossomed from an overweight 19-year-old to one of soapland's most desirable actresses
However, Catherine worked hard to
lose an astonishing four-and-a-half stone before she landed the role of
Eva Price in ITV soap Coronation Street.
And now Catherine works hard to maintain her petite size 10 figure.
The actress, who wowed in a figure-hugging red dress at last night's Inside Soap Awards launch party, now does four workouts a week.

Work it! Catherine is understandably proud of her 4.5 stone weight loss, and is now a svelte size 10
Catherine has also set up a Twitter
account with her personal trainer and pal Sam Witter, @samandcath, to
pass on diet and exercise tips to her fans.
The pretty blonde star has been following a high-protein diet full of vegetables to stay as healthy as possible.
Catherine's diet includes meals such
as a turkey and tomato omelette for breakfast, and stir-friend king
prawns with vegetables for lunch.
Just hanging around: Catherine now maintains her trim figure with four weekly sessions in the gym, which sees her complete exercises including running and pull ups

A DAY IN CATHERINE'S DIET
BREAKFAST – Turkey and tomato omelette with black coffee
LUNCH – King prawn and scallops stir-fried with vegetables
DINNER – Fillet steak with root vegetables and balsamic-reduction sauce
SNACKS – Nuts and seeds
And exercise regimes include swimming
and running, with Sam tweeting pictures of the star completing sessions
of pull ups and treadmill stints to keep followers motivated.
Now the actress is literally a
different person from her 19-year-old days, and says she is more than
proud of how far she has come.
In a recent interview with Now
magazine, Catherine said: 'I'm very proud of my weight loss, but I've
still got body issues, like my stretchmarks and my stomach.
'Compared to what I was when I was a teen, I've got nothing to complain about. I can walk and talk, I've got all my limbs, I'm healthy… so at the end of the day, what's a stretchmark'
