If you're tiring of the traditional Christmas pudding and classic trifle, the new pud to hit Earth might provide the perfect solution – if you're willing to pay a premium for it.
Hagen-Dazs have collaborated with London design duo Doshi Levien to create an indulgently artistic ice cream cake in the shape of the moon.
The spherical frozen fancy contains a
pistachio biscuit base with layers of creamy macadamia nut ice cream,
sweet meringue and a tangy coating of raspberry sorbet.
Frozen fancy: The new Haagen-Daazs ice cream moon cake costs 50
The frozen pud is made up of a pitachio biscuit base, creamy macadamia nut ice cream and a tangy raspberry sorbet
Anyone keen to tuck into the indulgent treat will have to be willing to pay a hefty price though – as the ice cream cake is on sale for 50.
Buyers will also have to be quick as the cake is handmade in the Hagen-Dazs shop in Paris – and only 50 will be created for UK consumers.
Available now on an apply-to-buy basis from their Facebook page, the 50 price tag also includes delivery – in the form of a butler who will hand deliver to your door, with full instructions on how to store and cut the cake.
The cakes will also be available to guests at the Royal Albert Hall (RRP 50).
Design duo: Nipa Doshi and Jonathan Levien created the ice moon cake
Designer Jonathan Levien (one half of Doshi Levien) said: 'The idea of working with Hagen-Dazs to create a cake made entirely of ice cream was irresistible.
'The mood idea came from many different places and has elements of fantasy, adventure and imagination.
'We imagined the shape and texture of an ice cream scoop being like the moon as in a famous childhood Bollywood song.'
Ed Culf, marketing director at Hagen-Dazs said they were sure the cake will be a hit. 'We are confident it will be the stylish centrepiece on many Christmas tables this festive season,' he said.
