The estranged husband of Myleene Klass has maintained a dignified silence while the end of his marriage has been played out in public.
But now Graham Quinn has said that much of what has been reported about him has been total lies and his relationship with Myleene was over a long time ago.
The Irish-born bodyguard claims that he never dumped the TV star on her birthday and that was a complete fabrication.
Fabricated: Graham Quinn, pictured in 2005, said that he didn't leave Myleene Klass on her birthday
Speaking to the Sunday Mirror, he said: 'Who in their right mind would drop someone on their birthday I'm not sick in the head, do you know what I mean'
He added: 'People wrote that I left her. But I didn't leave her on her birthday.'
Graham, who Myleene calls Gray, also explained that his marriage was by no means perfect and it had been in trouble for a long time.
Having dated Myleene for 11 years he doesn't want to see her hurting but he feels like a scapegoat at the moment.
Bliss: Graham feels like he has been made a scapegoat in the separation
He told the newspaper: 'There's been so much fabrication. It's ridiculous to be honest. I haven't been in the country for two-and-a-half to three month and all of a sudden I'm everywhere.'
A friend of Gray's backed up his words and told the Sunday Independent that the pair had been living separately under the same roof for a long time.
They said: 'As I understand it, things haven't been good for a while.
'It sounds odd given that they were only married six months, but sometimes people go ahead with a wedding even though deep down they have reservations about whether it's the right thing to do.'
Long term: The couple, pictured in 2007, had been together for 11 years but were living separate lives
The friend added: 'To say he walked out on the day of her birthday is complete bulls*** and PR spin.
truth is that Myleene was away on the week of her birthday and Graham
was working on tour. It was the following week he conceded the
relationship was beyond repair.'
The Irish-based friend also claimed that anyone who knew the couple would have known that 'they were having difficulties for a long time before this.'
Stronger: Myleene has been putting on a brave face for the sake of her children Ava and Hero
The pair met 2001 when Quinn was a bodyguard for pop group Hear'Say which Myleene was part of.
However they split when it emerged that Mr Quinn had jumped bail after being arrested for heroin possession in Ireland.
Although the couple became engaged in 2005 they didn't marry until last October in a ceremony with just 16 guests.
