For the Yankees fans who have everything Bronx Bombers to launch his-and-hers fragrances
The Yankees stadium is not known for its sweet-smelling baseball fans, but that may soon change with the launch of a new fans' fragrance.
Devoted Bronx Bombers fans will be able to douse themselves in the team's signature scent from April, when a perfume and after-shave is released.
The New York Daily News reports that the scents are inspired by the legendary team, home of baseball greats, Babe Ruth, Joe DiMaggio and Don Mattingly.
Home run: The franchise will sell the branded scents for him and her from April, to coincide with the team's World Series run
New York Yankees For Him and New York Yankees For Her will go on sale to tie-in with the opening of the World Series tournament.
The scents' makers, Cloudbreak Group, assured the newspaper that the perfume will not be reminiscent of the smells commonly associated with the macho sport – namely, beer, hotdogs and chewing tobacco.
The company's CEO Thomas Butkiewicz said the men's fragrance is all about 'a sporty and confident attitude, mixing 'fresh wood tones, an invigorating blend of sparkling bergamot, coriander and cool blue sage.'
Cloudbreak is behind Isaac Mizrahi New York's line of fragrances and beauty products, and said that the ladies' fragrance will be a fruitier blend of 'guava, succulent plum and sun-kiss apricot nectar.'
Fragrant success: Yankees star Derek Jeter will be able to douse himself in 'wood and bergamot' and 'coriander and cool blue sage' aromas
'Feminity' will be 'enhanced' by 'drenched strawberry blossom and rich tiare flower' as well as aromas of 'creamy sandalwood, delicious vanilla and sensuous musk'.
The Daily News reports that a 1.7 oz bottle will cost $49 and a 3.4 oz bottle will be available for $63. The scents will be on sale at stadium stores and at Macy's.
The hugely successful franchise makes millions from its logo-heavy souvenirs – or 'prestige and lifestyle products', as the club's Vice President, Michael Tusiani, puts it.
If being drenched in the smell of strawberry blossom in the name of baseball isn't enough for some, other eccentric Yankees souvenirs include a shower curtain, toilet seat covers, Yankees Monopoly and even a brand-emblazoned memorial cremation urn… for the die-hard sports lover.
