Nicole Richie sticks to her boho signature in first glimpse of her cut-price line for Macy's

It may still be a couple of months before Nicole Richie launches her upcoming collection for Macy's, but today, the retailer released an early glimpse of what the designs will look like.
A series of sketches show a typically bohemian aesthetic in keeping with the former reality star's Winter Kate fashion line.
Lightweight fabrics bearing her signature peacock print in shades of blue and green have been fashioned into both a dramatic floaty maxi and a flirty mini with long balloon sleeves.

There is also a more androgynous, monochrome look, which appears to be a loose-fit sweater with cropped sleeves with high-waisted, panelled leggings.
Fans of the star's designs are likely to be thrilled with the collection – not only for its similarity to Winter Kate, but also for the pocket-friendly price point.
The 24-30-piece line will cost from just $49, with the most expensive item ringing in at a reasonable $149.

Ms Richie says the range was inspired by music, and has been designed for the 'modern
women' and the ever changing roles they play in today's society.
'With each collection I do, it all starts with music,' she told WWD in May. 'Music is the driving force behind my inspiration…
'Women are wearing so many different hats these days. We are evolving. Not just working, but creating,' she continued.
'This collection has a strong mix of masculine and feminine: printed chiffon mixed with faux leathers. I focused on the details, from the zipper pulls to the buttons.'

Martine Reardon believes the star's limited-edition designs will sell out in under two weeks.
'Nicole is pretty savvy when it comes to the fashion business
and understanding consumers. She’s a real fashion influencer,' she said.

Ms Richie, who is married to Good Charlotte rocker Joel Madden and mother to their daughter Harlow, four, and son, Sparrow, nearly three, follows in some high-profile footsteps in collaborating with Macy's.
Past design partners include Karl Lagerfeld, Alberta Ferretti and Matthew Williamson, as well as Calvin Klein designer Francisco Costa.
The Nicole Richie for Impulse Only At Macy's, as the collection is officially – and somewhat cumbersomely – named, will be sold online and in about 100 Macy’s stores from mid-September.
