Built-in erect nipples, iPod pockets, no cups and one made for doodling: Are these the most bizarre bras ever invented

Strapless, sports, balcony, gel-padded, pump-up, plunging, backless and multi-way.
These are some of the more outlandish epithets we have learned when it comes to bras. Until now.
A 1970s advert for the retro fabulous 'nipple bra' – which features built-in erect nipples – has resurfaced, so FEMAIL took it upon themselves to pick out three other mind-boggling brassieres to tickle your fancy, each actually available to buy now….
THE NIPPLE BRA
Throw away that nipple tape, this retro 1970s bra – built to give you 'that sensual no-bra-look while wearing a bra' – is all about exaggerating erectness.
The vintage advert for the in-built nipple brassiere recently resurfaced on Retronaut. It says: 'The look is so provocative, no one would believe you're actually wearing a bra. Yet you get all the support you want.
The 'braless-look bra', available in beige, white or black and made from sheer nylon trimmed with daisy lace, was the very first to have an in-built 'cold weather look' nipple.
'It's so sexy, it'll give your shape a whole new eye-opening dimension.'
Though the bra is no longer available to buy, it was sold for $20 (12.48) in America in the 1970s.

THE JOEY BRA
For the girl who is constantly on the go but doesn't want to carry a bag, the JoeyBra may be the perfect solution.
Its in-built side pocket is the ideal size for a credit card, a keyring, an iPod or a mobile phone, and will make dancing round your handbag a thing of the past.
The bra was created this year in Seattle by student friends Mariah Gentry and Kyle Bartlow, currently still studying in the Foster School of Business program at the University of Washington.
The JoeyBra is available online for $19.99 (12.48).
The JoeyBra: 'JoeyBra was created for women who are constantly on the go and struggle to find a place to put their ID, keys, or phones'
The La Decollette 'anti-wrinkle night bra' is a cupless solution for maintaining a nice, smooth, tight neckline and cleavage while you sleep.
The bra was built with skin's natural healing ability in mind, and the bra reportedly does 'a very effective job' after just one night.
Before wearing, the user should moisturise the chest area with night cream, then put on the bra – with the straps lengthened or stretched according to size – which ensures both breasts stay in place while the wearer is asleep.
The bra is available for 44.95 from the Decolette website.

THE DOODLE BRA
Invented by 19-year-old Rachel Segal in 2009, the Doodle Bra is a blank, white bra that comes equipped with a pack of non-permanent, non-toxic coloured pens, allowing the wearer to draw, scribble and write all over it before putting it in the wash and starting all over again.
Segal had the idea when she and her friends drew pictures on her white bra in 2008 and her father Randy saw a marketable business plan.
The cotton garment costs just $9.99 (6.23) and is perfect as a training bra for young girls, allowing them to express their individuality and creativity, and, according to Segal's website, simply 'have fun'.
Segal's company have now begun making other doodlable pieces, including shoes and purses.
Doodle Bra: 'Doodle Bra creates positive responses entertaining and engaging young ladies and girls while meeting the needs of essential garments and providing a way for self expression at the same time'
