Giuliana Rancic has returned to work – and the red carpet – less than a month after becoming a mother for the first time.

The 37-year-old and her husband Bill Rancic welcomed their son Edward Duke via gestational surrogate on August 29.

She hosted the E! network's Primetime
Emmy Awards Countdown to the Red Carpet special on Sunday with Kelly Osbourne and
George Kotsiopoulos and later continued the coverage with Ryan Seacrest.

Despite cutting her maternity leave short, Rancic's son wasn't far from her mind.

She shared several photos of her son and
her husband, admitting: 'I always vowed I would never be one of those
moms who brought pictures, but I'm one of those moms!'

'It's hard to believe he's almost a month old.'

She arrived wearing an ivory Rafael Cennamo dress and the swapped into a sleek Romona Keveza black number.

'I've missed you so much,' Rancic told her Fashion Police cohorts Osbourne and Kotsiopoulos.

'It's so different not having you there,' Osbourne said. 'Not that we haven't had amazing guests, but I missed you so much.'

Rancic admitted she tuned into Fashion Police during her time off and would give her verdict from the comfort of home.

'I still acted like [a critic],' Rancic said. 'Sometimes you cut me off and I get very offended!'

Osbourne initially co-ordinated with Rancic in a white Marcia Lucia Hohan frock then later swapped into a violet Zac Posen dress which matched the hue of her hair.

Jimmy Kimmel is host of the ceremony airing live at 8 p.m. EDT on ABC, with awards in 26 categories to be presented at the Nokia Theatre.
