She may be on her deathbed but that doesn”t stop Pat Evans from being surrounded by drama.

Sent home to die: Pat Evans (played by Pam St Clement) looks terrible as she lays on her deathbed
But rather than let her rest, faces of her past and present see it as the perfect opportunity to confront her and say what they have to say.
Much to her displeasure, Pat is visited by Derek Branning – played by Jamie Foreman – who has a few home truths to relay to her.
But when her son David Wicks (Michael French) arrives back in Albert Square, he finds himself wound up by the Branning brother.
Unwanted visitor: Pat has no choice but to listen when Derek Branning stops by to talk to her
Close call: Carol Jackson has to diffuse the situation in the Queen Vic when Derek brags to Pat”s son David Wicks about his altercation with her before her death
Derek attempts to brag about his altercation with Pat in the Queen Vic which leaves his sister Carol Jackson (Lindsay Coulson) to break things up between them.

He”s back: David (played by Michael French) returns to the soap following a 15 year absence
The former East End resident spends time with his daughter Bianca Butcher (Patsy Palmer) going through Pat”s belongings but this leads to Bianca opening up and telling him that she loves having him around.
David obviously has a soft spot for her too and finds himself threatening her husband Ricky (Sid Owen) as the truth about their recent problems finally comes out.
Still has a soft spot: Bianca Butcher tells David how much she loves having him around as they sort through Pat”s belongings
Threatening behaviour: David steps in when he realises all is not well between Bianca and her husband Ricky
It”s the sort of mess that Pat herself would normally be left to clear up, but instead her friends and family are rallying around her for once as they organise her funeral.

Last month photos showed on-screen relatives gather at the funeral as they follow her coffin which is carried along in traditional East End style in a horse and carriage.

As the procession arrives at church so do Pat”s friends and relatives including Bianca and Ricky, his sister Janine, Billy Mitchell and Derek.

Smiling: Sid Owen (who plays Ricky Butcher) was obviously caught unawares when this picture was taken while Nicola Stapleton (Mandy) stayed in character
