They're both nominated for Emmy Awards for their roles on Downton Abbey.
And British starlets Michelle Dockery and Joanne Froggatt both rocked conservative high-neck gowns to the ninth annual BAFTA LA TV Tea at the London Hotel in Los Angeles.
And though the two English roses will have to wait to find out if they win statues at the Primetime Emmy Awards airing Sunday, they were definitely fashion winners.

Michelle, 30, plays Lady Mary Crawley on the successful ITV costume drama and she told TV Line the honor was 'an incredible feeling'.

Joanne plays the head housemaid Anna and she called the supporting actress nod 'the biggest and best shock of my life.'

It was Michelle who broke the news to her 32-year-old costar with a congratulations text message.
'So I called Michelle and I said, “Did we get a lot of nominations” And she said, “Yeah, you’re nominated!” And I said “Oh my goodness!”' Joanne told the Huffington Post.
'I just could not believe it. I screamed and jumped up and down and cried a bit. I went back on set with Brendan [Coyle], and we were both Emmy nominees – it was great!'
The pretty blonde also posed on the red carpet with her much taller fianc James Cannon who, instead of show business, runs his own I.T. company.

The annual BAFTA event celebrates excellence in television by honoring the nominees from the UK, Commonwealth, and America.
The afternoon function includes traditionally British tea and scones, cocktails, and a silent auction to raise funds for BAFTA Los Angeles Community Outreach and Education programs.
And it's an even more exciting year thanks to Downton Abbey's record-breaking 16 nominations – the most ever for an international TV series.
The show's creator, Julian Fellowes, made an appearance at the event and proudly posed with his distinguished cast members, including Brendan Coyle and Hugh Bonneville.
Brendan, 48, said he 'genuinely did not expect' to be acknowledged for his supporting role as the valet John Bates.

The thespian wore an eccentric printed shirt under his black suit and posed with his wife of 14 years Lulu Evans.
Hugh, 48, told TV Line he was especially touched at how the American public has embraced the show.
'I can hardly believe that I've been nominated alongside five legends of contemporary television drama – Steve, Bryan, Michael, Damian and Jon. I'm truly honored,' said Bonneville.
Two LA-based actresses who could learn a thing or two from Michelle and Joanne about restraint were Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Kathleen Robertson who both flashed a substantial amount of flesh at the event.

The 39-year-old Boss star widened eyes with her cleavage-boosting lavender cut-out frock, which had open sides and back.
Meanwhile the 51-year-old funnywoman vamped it up in all black and flashed her bra under a sheer dotted top, pencil skirt, and pumps.
Julia was in the middle of a dream when her publicist called her to tell her about her nod for Veep.
'I'm still kind of pissed about that. I don't like to be awaken,' the Seinfeld star told TV Line.
'I just learned that [I'm now tied with Lucille Ball's record of 13 nominations] this morning; I had no idea beforehand and I'm stunned by it. I'm really actually made speechless by it and don't even know what to say.'

And Anna Gunn, who's up for
supporting actress in Breaking Bad, tried to keep from waking her two
children when she got the call.

'I escaped to the living room, where I started making a lot of noise,' the 44-year-old actress told Huffington Post.
'And then of course both kids woke up
anyway! But then we all did a happy dance…I mean, to hear your name
in the same breath as Maggie Smith Just mind-blowing.'
German-born English star Dominic
Monaghan, 35, was the victim of a bad buzzcut but brought out his blue
