It could have been difficult standing out from the crowd thanks to the black frock dress code.
But rather than blending in, Dita Von Teese did, of course, become the belle of the ball as she headed out on Friday night.
The burlesque dancer attended Cameron Silver's Decades: A Century Of Fashion book party at Chateau Marmont's Bar Marmont in Hollywood.
Showing off her assets: She looked vampish in the jet black frock as she attended Cameron Silver's book party for his tome 'Decades: A Century Of Fashion'
LBDs galore: Actresses Kristin Davis and Ashley Madekwe also showed up in black frocks but there was no denying Dita had stolen the show
Von Teese completed her look with dark red lipstick to give off a vampish vixen look with matching nail polish.
And she carried a clutch bag while accessorising with plenty of silbe3r glitzy jewellery.
But she wasn't the only star to show up in an LBD.
Sex and the City star Kristin Davis went for a more classic look in an asymmetrical black dress with a cinched in waist thanks to her large leather belt.
She can count on her friends: She posed with handsome Decades owner Cameron Silver, who wore a flamboyant cape
Quite the ladies man: His outfit certainly seemed to do the trick as he was flanked by Kristin Davis and Dita
Voluptuous: Actress Jennifer Tilly was also at the book event at Chateau Marmont's Bar Marmont in Hollywood
She wore her hair in an up 'do and carried her own clutch, while the likes of Ashley Madekwe and Jennifer Tilly also wore black to the event.
Dita was seen posing for photographs with Kristin, as well as a pleased Cameron Silver himself, who also looked vampish with his slicked back hair and red cloak around his neck.
Von Teese's outing comes a day after she launched her new capsule clothing collection in Los Angeles.
On Thursday the 40-year-old star looked her usual stylish self in a pretty red, light blue and white maxi dress from her own collection as she arrived at Melrose Avenue store Decades for the event.
She's in fashion: Dita Von Teese arrived at Decades in Los Angeles on Thursday night sporting a red, pale blue and white floral maxi dress
The star was clearly looking forward to the launch of her collection, tweeting: 'Getting ready for my dress collection launch @decadesinc in Los Angeles tonight. I'm so excited, slightly nervous…!'
The star happily mingled inside the store which showed off her collection of four dresses and a trench coat inspired by the star's enthusiasm for vintage.
Each piece ranges from $595 to $995 and is offered in sizes four through to 16, with Dita sporting the 'Bon Bon' dress, adapted from a 1930s gown in her closet.
According to w la.racked.com, the store's co-owners Cameron Silver and Christos Garkinos dotted the boutique with items from Dita's personal archive including a Marc Jacobs-gifted Louis Vuitton hat case to diamond bespoke shoes by Christian Louboutin
A woman of many talents: Dita's dress showed off her creamy white skin and curvy figure to the maximum
'I have always wanted to do something like this, to re-create vintage pieces in wearable sizes and fabrics,' Dita told the Los Angeles Times.
'But I don't claim to be a fashion designer, because I have so much respect for my designer friends and what they do. I don't sketch or sew. My talent lies in styling myself and choosing vintage pieces that don't make me look like I'm starring in a costume drama.'
The star, who admits to having a 'huge vintage collection' said she is interested in expanding into designing more affordable wear.
'I don't just collect designer labels, but also clothes normal women wore,' she said. 'And it drives me crazy that you don't get all those details today that you used to in clothing.'
