Looking nothing short of stunning, German actress Diane Kruger put everyone else in Cannes to shame with her glittery, silver-and-gold sequined Vivienne Westwood Couture gown.
However, despite no doubt spending the day preening and primping before the Amour premiere, the heavens opened and threatened to undo her entire look in a flash flood of torrential rain.
Thankfully, loyal partner Joshua Jackson played the perfect gentleman and immediately erected an umbrella to keep his girlfriend dry and protect her hairdo from unravelling into a frizzy mess.

The 35-year-old beauty has quickly become the most fashionable juror at the 11-day film festival with her lace-up Versus mini-dress, mint green Giambattista Valli gown, red cleavage-bearing Calvin Klein dress, and asymmetrical navy Jason Wu gown.
Joined by her fellow juror, designer Jean Paul Gaultier, Diane carried a silver clutch and wore her blonde hair halfway-up in a demure style as she posed for photographers at the Palais des Festivals.

Singer Cheryl Cole and fellow Cannes juror Ewan McGregor were also spotted at the premiere, but chances are Diane will be hitting the sheets before midnight tonight.

Yesterday the jury, including director Alexander Payne, met to discuss which films should be honored with the festival's highest award, the Palm D'or, on May 27.
'It's a little weird being next to the Alexander Payne's of the world, but it's an interesting mix of people with different points of view,' said the actress, who has been watching two films every day.
