The buyer of J Crew president and creative director Jenna Lyons' seven-bedroom New York townhouse was the founder of English 80s band Depeche Mode.

It sold for $4million which was seven per cent more than the asking price.

The deeds state that the new owners are Vincent and Tracy Martin. Vincent Martin is also known as Vincent Clarke who founded the electronic band as well as musical acts Erasure and Yazoo.

The property in Park Slope, Brooklyn originally listed in November for $3.75million, following news that she had left her husband for a 38-year-old female jewellery executive.

The 43-year-old mother-of-one has now moved to the star-studded neighbourhood of Tribeca. She is living in the
prestigious American Express Carriage House which underwent a refurbishment recently.

Her particular unit was last valued at
$5.895million.

Ms Lyons and her artist ex-husband
Vincent Mazeau purchased the 4,400-square-foot brownstone house in Brooklyn for
$1.3million in 2004.

The couple of nine years split in October of last
year after the designer began dating Courtney Crangi.

Located in Park Slope, the house featured a black and white
colour scheme scattered with understated bursts of citrus colour.

It
oozed the same sort of contemporary edge the creative director has
become known for.

The house was sold to a couple named Vincent and Tracy Martin according to the deeds.

No photographs of Ms Lyons' new Tribeca
home have been released but property records found by Curbed.com showed
that it is a 5,000sq ft unit in the landmark American Express Carriage.

Recent renovations saw improved communal areas in the building as well as upgrades to its 15 apartments.

As the designer's previous home was
often featured in magazines, one can expect to see a brilliantly-styled
new space once she is done decorating.

Ms Lyons and her ex-husband share custody of a son, Beckett.

The designer’s new girlfriend is mother to three children herself.

Ms Lyons and her ex-husband had been
longtime friends with Ms Crangi and her former husband, and the two
couples had even taken vacations together.

Sources
have said the two women met at a fashion event many years ago and have
even alleged that their relationship began before Ms Lyons had broken
off her marriage to Mr Mazeau.

The
couple’s divorce was allegedly messy as they wrangled over assets like
their family home in Brooklyn and a large amount of money.
