A overweight mother who was so large she couldn't tie her own shoe laces has lost more than nine stone after embarking upon a strict diet.
Dawn Price weighed 25st after struggling with her weight all her life.
Encumbered by her size, she found she could no longer tie her own shoe laces, and had to rely on help from her daughter Jessica, now 19, and her twins Emily and Lloyd, now 14.
Humiliating: Dawn Price was so overweight she couldn't get out of bed or use the toilet alone
Dawn, who was a size 33 and weighed over 25st at her heaviest, admitted to eating over 5,000 calories a day at her worst.
She feasted on bacon sandwiches for breakfast, pies for lunch and takeaways for dinner.
As a child, Dawn, 41, from Caerphilly, South Wales, comfort ate – a product, she believes, of her parents' divorce when she was just five years old.
When she saw her father on weekends, he treated her to unhealthy snacks.
She told Closer magazine: 'I’d only see Dad at weekends
and, to make up for it, he’d buy me chocolate. I began associating food
with love and my comfort-eating spiralled.'
Dawn weighed 13st by the time she was 13 – and her weight made her feel
deeply insecure. 'I hated my size,' she confesses.
Role reversal: Dawn, 41, from Caerphilly, relied on her children, Jessica, 19, centre right, and twins Emily and Lloyd, 14, to help her dress and bathe. Now a healthier size 16, she says she's delighted to be independent again
In 1993, Dawn fell pregnant with her daughter Jessica after a short fling, and saw her weight soar to 18st.
Later, while in a long-term relationship with her partner Darren in 1998, she fell pregnant with twins. /04/16/article-2130560-129FB6FD000005DC-887_233x353.jpg” width=”233″ height=”353″ alt=”Read the full story in this week's Closer magazine, on news stands today” class=”blkBorder” />

She started swimming, and when she did crave chocolate, had small chocolate bar like a Kit-Kat instead of gorging like she used to.
After the first week on her healthy eating plan, Dawn lost a staggering 1st 2lbs. Six months later, she had lost 4st.
Dawn, who has now lost 9st 3lb, recalls: 'I lost a lot at first, then some weeks I did better than others. But it was manageable, as I was allowed little treats.'
Now a size 16, she weighs 16st 6lbs, but says much of that weight is made up of the loose skin left over from her weight loss.
She says: 'I suffer from asthma, but can look after myself now. I’m no longer a burden to my children. I’m lucky to have such amazing kids.
'We now spend time together properly and go to the cinema or shops.'
Her daughter Jessica adds: 'I’d do anything for my mum. She was never a burden and never needs to be embarrassed around me.'
