'My heart hurts so much': Davina McCall is in mourning as her beloved half-sister loses her cancer battle

Davina McCall has taken to Twitter this evening to reveal her heartache after announcing her beloved half-sister Caroline passed away earlier today.
She's known for her flamboyant persona
onscreen but it seems the TV host has been harbouring a secret
heartache recently as her sibling's health has been deteriorating.
Now McCall, 44, has paid a touching tribute to Caroline Baday on the social networking site.

She wrote: 'My beautiful brave sister Caroline (@madfroggy) lost her fight against cancer today.My heart hurts so much. Thank you for your kind messages… Xx.'
Davina then shared a picture of her sister smiling from her hospital bed alongside the words: 'My amazing sister…'
And it appears she has been keeping a vigil for her for the majority of this week as she tweeted several days ago: 'Sorry, I have sort of disappeared.on family hols, sister still poorly so no tweeting but checking in every now and then.Thank u for asking x.'
McCall first notified her fans of her sick sister on Twitter at the end of June, simply revealing that she was 'poorly'.

But now she is mourning her family member, who is her mother's daughter from her first marriage.
On Caroline's Twitter page her last picture is one of her smiling while carrying a large bunch of flowers from her TV star sister.
And she poignantly showed how close they were as she dubbed Davina her 'rock' and commented: 'Wow, look at that monster! I feel like a film star. Thank u @ThisisDavina U rock & you're my rock xx.'

Since McCall announced the tragic news, she has been inundated with kind words from fans, as well as her celebrity pals.
Myleene Klass wrote: 'I'm so sorry for your loss. The love sisters have is so special. X.'
While Emma Bunton added: 'I am so sorry to hear this, thinking of you and your family at such a sad time. Sending you lots of hugs,' and fellow presenter Kate Thornton said: 'I'm so, so sorry to hear that. Thoughts, prayers and hugs to you all. Sometimes life is too, too cruel x.'
