Still an East End boy at heart: David Beckham pops into his favourite restaurant for some pie and mash
Touching down in London last week for Christmas, it appears there was one things on David Beckham”s mind…
Although excited to be spending the holiday with his family at home in Hertfordshire, the footballer couldn”t wait to get a plate of his favourite dish pie and mash.
The father-of-four posted a photo of himself tucking into the delicacy at Tony Lane”s Pie & Mash shop in Waltham Abbey, Essex on his Facebook page.

He captioned it: “Another picture from my favourite pie and mash shop.”
Whenever he”s in London, East Londoner Beckham always makes the effort to visit Tony”s restaurant, having been a fan of the traditional English eaterie for over seven years.
In fact, Beckham paid for a delivery of pie and mash for all the Tottenham Hotspurs players when he finished training at White Hart Lane earlier this year.
Favourite: Beckham always orders double pie, double mash, parsley liquor and a side order of jellied eels
Aside from eating his favourite meal and spending time with the family at Christmas, Beckham also surprised his sister Joanne with an early 30th birthday party.
Living in Los Angeles for most of the year, the Beckhams don”t see a lot of their respective families.
WhenDavid realised it was his sister Joanne”s 30th birthday, he decided to arrange a surprise party to celebrate – despite the fact that her big day isn”t until next February.
Still close: Victoria Beckham tweeted this tender photo with her sister in law Joanne at Roka, a Japanese restaurant in central London.
And from her tweets, Joanne had no idea that David, 36, and Victoria, 37, had arranged the surprise dinner for his younger sibling.
She knew she was going to her favourite restaurant Roka, a modern Japanese place in the heart of Fitzrovia in central London.
Butshe was surprised to see her close friends and family there and Tweeted: “Aww turned up at my fav restaurant and can”t believe my close friends and family was here !!!! Amazin !!! So happy.”
The family were joined by their other sister Lynne, 38, for the occasion.

Joannelater wrote on her Twitter page: “My bday is feb 19th and I will b 30 but we celerbrated early jus in case my big bro wasn”t here !! Had a amazin nite.”
And clearly David was delighted to see his sister so happy that he arranged for a group photo that he promptly posted on his Facebook page and wrote: “Merry Xmas everyone….just at my little sister Jo”s birthday party tonight.”
Beckham can be seen beaming at the back of the photo with the birthday girl right next to him on his right and his eldest sister Lynne in front.
And the cheeky footballer couldn”t resist acting a bit childishly as he put two fingers up behind Joanne”s head.
Me and my bro: Joanne later shared a posed-up picture of her and David on her Twitter page
Celebrations: Joanne was presented with a huge cake by her family and friends, despite her birthday not being until February
Victoria stood off to the side on the right in between two of Joanne”s friends as someone captured the moment.
And in another image, David”swife and little sister were thick as thieves at the party – and Victoria made sure to capture the moment with a touching photo of the pair.
She captioned the pic: “Great evening with my sister in law celebrating her 30th!!! happy birthday @joannebeckham! X vb.”
Joanne certainly looked as though she was enjoying herself – and even usually reserved Victoria wore a contented grin.
