'I was never going to come out unscathed!' Danniella Westbrook says drug addiction ruined her looks – but she's lucky to be alive
Danniella Westbrook has acknowledged that drug addiction has ravaged her good looks.
But the former EastEnder, who has been clean for 11 years, says she is simply grateful to be alive.
And the 38-year-old no longer cares about critics, ridiculing the haters as
being insecure themselves.

She told Closer said: 'I couldn't
have gone through all those years of drug addiction and come out of it
unscathed. It's aged me and it's done things to my face, but I'm lucky
to be alive.'
the former Dancing On Ice contestant doesn't appear to be totally
immune from the knock-on effects to her appearance after revealing she
might pay a certain Essex girl a visit.
explained that she had been invited by Amy Childs to visit the ex-TOWIE
star's salon in Brentwood for some mates-rates Botox injections and she
might just take her up on the offer.

She also seems insecure about tipping the scales at 10 stone, currently her heaviest weight to date.
The born-again Christian, standing at a petite 5ft 4in, said:
weighed around 9st in America but, since I've come back to this country,
I haven't stopped eating.

'I think the weather plays a huge
part, because I was eating lots of salads and fish in the US and I got
back here and there seems to be a McDonald's on every corner.'
However, she is now taking her life back by the reins training five days a week to get her body back.
Danniella, who played Sam Mitchell for almost 20 years, says she first dabbled with the drug at 14 because she thought it was 'glamorous'.
However, she finally kicked her decade-long 400-a-day habit with a third stint in rehab in 2001.
making every effort to look sophisticated in an evening gown at a Pia
Michi catwalk show earlier this month, fashion columns couldn't help but
focus on her nose.
After she was pictured in 2001 with her nasal septum missing – having been completing eroded away – Danniella underwent a nose reconstruction costing 20,000.
She is adamant she is clean now, saying: 'Once an addict, always an addict…
The other day I went to the doctor and he told me to use Vicks to
unblock my nose, but I can't do that – just the thought of putting
anything up my nose now makes me gag.'
Danniella has just returned to UK after
spending two years in California with husband Kevin Jenkins, their
daughter Jody, 10 and her son Kai, 15, from a previous relationship.
The couple plan to open a dog spa in Essex, similar to their Barkingham Palace across the Atlantic.
