Simon Cowell has added to his ever-growing worldwide property empire with a decidedly kitsch 9.8 million home in Hollywood.
The two-storey property boasts a swimming pool complete with faux-Grecian urns, while in the living area brown walls clash with orange furnishings and striped armchairs.
The 52-year-old X Factor and Britain’s Got Talent mogul bought the house in Los Angeles in October but was revealed as the new owner only last week.

The 7,265 sq ft property, built in 1966, has four bedrooms and four bathrooms and is set in a secure private estate. It also boasts city and ocean views, a high-tech digital screening room and cinema and built-in outdoor fireplaces.
Cowell already has a 15 million Beverly Hills home that has been under almost constant renovation for the past five years.
He had been living in a nearby 5 million house but ‘gave’ that property to former fiancee Mezhgan Hussainy when they split this year.
His new home was designed by famed architect Hal Levitt, who created homes for showbusiness royalty Dean Martin, Burt Lancaster and Debbie Reynolds.

Cowell bought the house from Randy Phillips, the promoter of Michael Jackson’s ill-fated This Is It concert tour. Neighbours include actress Jennifer Aniston and boyfriend Justin Theroux as well as TV presenter Ellen DeGeneres.
Former Beatle Ringo Starr also lives inside the heavily guarded enclave. The security is sure to appeal to Cowell, who in March told of his horror when a woman broke into his 9 million home in West London as he was watching television.
Leanne Zaloumis, 29, was allegedly brandishing a brick when she came face to face with the music producer who immediately alerted his security team.
He later said: ‘It was absolutely terrifying. Seeing this woman standing there in my house was like something out of a horror movie. She could have had a gun.’

A source told The Mail on Sunday: ‘Simon has beefed up protection at all his homes after what happened in London. All his houses have state-of-the-art security systems, but this new place in LA is in a guarded estate so there is an extra level of privacy and security.’
Cowell, reportedly worth about 200 million, owns a 2.1 million house in Barbados and has another 9 million property on the island under construction, due to be completed by 2015. He has a weekend home in Malaga and a 1 million investment property on the Palm Jumeirah island in Dubai.
The source added: ‘The LA home is stunning but knowing Simon he will probably tear it apart and do a full redesign from top to bottom.’
