Last night they were awarded the hotly contested Best Soap award at the BAFTAs in London.
And today Coronation Street's Michelle Keegan and Paula Lane returned home to Manchester with the rest of the cast.
Michelle was understandably over the moon with their win, and tweeted a picture of herself on the train back to Manchester from London carrying their award.
Triumphant return: Michelle Keegan tweeted this snap of herself holding Corrie's Best Soap BAFTA award on the train home to Manchester today
She wrote: 'Taking the BAFTA home to Manchester!!! '
The victorious ladies were radiant in bright summery dresses as they arrived at the station.
Michelle looked casual and pretty in a short patterned dress, with her dark hair piled up in a messy ponytail, keeping cool in black flip flops.
Bright and cheerful: Michelle and her co-star Paula Lane were summery in patterned dresses as they arrived at Manchester station
She covered her (doubtless a little tired) eyes with dark sunglasses, and carried a large navy overnight bag with white polka dots.
Paula was likewise colourful in a gorgeous white strapless maxi dress with a pink floral pattern.
She also wore her hair up, and chose funky red rimmed sunglasses to disguise any after-effects from the night before.
That's a hefty overnight bag! Michelle clearly isn't a fan of travelling light
Covering their party eyes: Both Michelel and Paula hid the after-effects of last night's celebration with dark sunglasses
Catherine Tyldesley also wore a pretty flowery dress as she left the Granada studios for her lunch break this afternoon, with her blonde locks kept in check in a side plait.
The evening was clearly a dream from start to finish, with Michelle tweeting yesterday afternoon 'The Corinthia… What a hotel!! I might not be out enjoying the sunshine today but I've got ONE HELL of a room! #everycloud'
Last year the British Academy crowned EastEnders as the winner of its Soap and Continuing Drama Award.
On trend: Both Corrie stars Catherine Tyldesley and Samia Smith were also in colourful dresses as they left Granada studios for their lunch break
Cheeky! Clearly in a playful mood, Catherine slapped her co-star Anthony Cotton on the backside as they walked down the street
But in what has been a truly turbulent year for the residents of Coronation Street, this year the gong went to them.
Cast members including Michelle Keegan, who plays Tina McIntyre, William Roache, best known as Ken Barlow and Chris Fountain who stars as Tommy Duckworth, couldn't stop smiling as they took to the stage to accept the award.
Cruising along: Ryan Thomas looked especially relaxed as he rolled along on his sky blue bike into the Granada Studios
And Roache paid tribute to his colleagues and praised the 'team effort' behind the long-running show.
Other winners on the night included the ITV drama Appropriate Adult, which scooped three gongs including Supporting Actress Monica Dolan for her portrayal of Rose West and one for Dominic West as Leading Actor for his role as notorious serial killer Fred West.
