She recently revealed a saucy secret as to how she gets into character for her role as as office manager Joan Harris in Mad Men.

'We have the full undergarments and the slips and the thing over that,' she divulged.

The star chatted about the new season of the show, and her reaction to co-star January Jones wearing a 'fat' suit as character Betty Francis.

'I think I've been really lucky in that Joan is really a one-of-a-kind character,' she said.

'She's not a stereotype and you don't just see roles like that in every script you get. People have asked me if I've worried about being typecast, but there is no “type” for Joan.'

She also said the most shocking part of the current fifth season was seeing Betty Francis (January Jones) as 'fat.'

'Betty being fat. I mean I think that's a shocker for everyone,' she said. January [Jones] was so game and thought it was a really cool storytelling technique and so she was enthusiastic about it and a true sport.'
