Viewers are used to seeing her play the downtrodden Heather Trott in EastEnders, but Cheryl Fergison has revealed her glamorous side with a magazine make-over.

Wearing soft artfully applied make-up and a peach blouse,
Cheryl looks a million miles away from her on screen persona.

Hopefully her new look should see the offers roll in now that she is no longer part of the Albert Square family.

In the interview accompanying the
glossy photoshoot, Cheryl revealed that she burst into tears after being
told she was out of the fictional Walford -based soap.

The
46-year-old actor should have been celebrating that very same day after
hearing that her Moroccan husband had been granted a visa to live in
Britain after months of applying.

However, as her heart began to flutter
at the news she would be reunited with Yassine El-Jamouni, EastEnders
bosses broke the news that her character Heather was going to be
killed off.

She told Best magazine: 'It was a bittersweet day. What you get with one hand, you get taken away with another!

She said: 'When they told me Heather
was for the chop, (the boss) had to get me a tissue.

'Sometimes a
character is sacrificed to make other stories work. I get it. I knew it
was going to come but it was still a shock.'

Fergison, who also wears a floaty
black number and pearls during the shoot, was told the news last
September and bosses reportedly said they wanted to get rid of her
before the audience grew bored of her.

Cheryl
explained that she was able to hold it together during filming of her
last scenes but she crumbled when it came to clearing out her dressing
room.

She said: 'There were lots of tears and I
was scared about the future. I’ve turned down a couple of things I
didn’t think were quite right for me.

The curvy star also revealed that she will not be forced into losing weight and is happy with her body shape.

She said: 'Good luck to them if they
want to but I won’t be doing that. Everyone tries to pressurise me with
comments, saying I’d be much prettier if I lost weight.'

She added: 'My thing is to be positive and to like yourself and until you can do that, you can’t function.'

Albert Square said a painful goodbye to Heather, last night, when Ben Mitchell lashed out in anger and killed her with a blow to the head.

Ricky Grover, who played Trott's fiance paid homage to the star.

He told Inside Soap: 'I was away when Cheryl was filming her final episodes, but I drove about 100 miles an hour to get back in time to watch them shoot her final scene.

'When I got to the set, nearly all of the cast and crew were there.'

He added to the magazine: 'Some familiar faces came back to see Cheryl, too. The fact that people like Barbara Windsor and Pam St Clement joined us for a good knees-up shows just how well-respected Cheryl is.'
