The singer was snapped leaving Cannes yesterday where she had been for a few days representing L”Oreal.

Cheryl, 27, was flying to New York where she will either spend a few days, or catch a connection to Los Angeles.

The outfit was as bright as the one she wore to kick-start her US career, but the purple trousers and frilled orange top were met with mixed reviews.
Cheryl has been told she needs to become more ‘old-style sophisticated and glamorous’ by her new bosses in Hollywood.
Asource within the production team told The Mail on Sunday: ‘Obviously Cheryl is a gorgeous woman, but she turned up to the first day’s filmingof The X Factor looking a bit weird in purple flares.

Everyonewas talking about how she looked – but for all the wrong reasons. The level of glamour expected by American audiences is much higher.

SimonCowell has ordered the team to approach some of the best-known stylistsin LA to help Cole pull together a ‘jaw-dropping’ wardrobe before the new show starts in September.
A source told the Daily Star: “Cheryl is planning to meet with several stylists in LA in a bid to find her perfect match.

She said: “I absolutely love colours at the minute.
“It makes everything feel bright and alive so I am going to go colour crazy while I can.”

Cheryl was in Cannes this weekend to attend the Habemus Papam film premiere and represent cosmetics firm L”Oreal, having recently fronted their Elnett hairspray ad campaign.
As she stepped into the cab to take her home, she couldn”t resist poking her tongue out as she was whisked away.
An onlooker said: “Cheryl looked in sparkling form after the party, in more ways than one.
“She had clearly had a good time having managed to strike the perfect balance between stylish and sexy.”
Tongues of class: She had stepped out in a figure-hugging sparkly dress for the Italian movie”s L”Oreal after party with a slicked-back ponytail and dark plum-coloured lipstick
She had stepped out in a figure-hugging sparkly dress for the Italianmovie”s L”Oreal after-party with a slicked-back ponytail and dark plum-coloured lipstick.
The look was rather more modest than the one she had sported earlier for the film showcase itself – a plunging white Stephane Rolland gown that left little to the imagination.
But Cheryl managed to look both sexy and elegant in the white creation.
Cherylteamed the dress with an unusual belt, which featured what appeared to be two gold pears on the front, and gold clutch bag.
She appeared poised and confident as she posed for photographers on the red carpet at the premiere.
Elegant entrance: Cheryl gracefully gets out of her car as she arrives at the Italian movie”s L”Oreal after-party
She then decided to make an appearance at the party hosted by L”Oreal, the cosmetics company of which she is the face.
The choice was a sharp contrast to Cheryl”s usual appearance of voluminous hair and fresh-faced make-up which she wore to the X Factor USA.
However, the Parachutes singer told MailOnline she was nervous about how US viewers would react to her strong Geordie accent.
Shesaid: “I”m hoping people are going to embrace it. I”m not worried (about my accent). It”s going to be interesting. I hear a lot of accentshere too.
“I”m sure there will be words or phases where people are like, excuse me”
Askedif she would adjust or change her voice, she replied emphatically: “Never! I would be crucified where I”m from if I tried to change my accent.”
Revealing: The dress was rather more modest than the one she had sported earlier for the film showcase itself – a plunging white Stephane Rolland gown that left little to the imagination
But it looks like Cheryl may have been in Cannes 2011 on business, not just pleasure according to the latest reports.
The new X Factor US judge has apparently been eyed up by Hollywood bigwig producer Harvey Weinstein who wants to put her in one of his films.
According to sources in Cannes, Harvey reckons Chezza would make a great leading lady – and reckons she”s got a very interesting life.
