Charlize Theron is a mother! Single actress adopts baby boy and names him Jackson

Charlize Theron has become a mother for the first time.
A spokesperson for the Young Adult star confirmed that the 36-year-old Academy Award winner has adopted a baby boy named Jackson.
In a statement to Us Weekly, they said: 'Charlize Theron has adopted a child. She is the proud mom of a healthy baby boy named Jackson.'

The blonde, who bagged her Oscar for
her visceral portrayal of serial killer Aileen Wuornos in Monster, split
from long-term boyfriend Stuart Townsend, 39, in January last year.
She dated the Irish actor for nine years, and many expected the pair to marry.
But despite the romantic disappointment, Charlize remained adamant that she wanted to have a child.
And she talked openly about the idea of adoption being an appealing option for her.

told Germany's In Touch magazine in August last year: 'I want a baby.
If it would happen tomorrow I would be very happy.'
When asked if she would consider adopting as a single mother she said, 'Why Not I'm open to everything in life.'
Charlize has previously spoken out about
adoption when she said, “There are so many unwanted children on this
earth and it's our job to care for them. And if we don't we're doing the
world a disservice.'
And at the end of January this year, she was spotted tenderly cradling a friend's baby son at a shoot for Snow White and the Huntsman in LA.

She joins a growing group of other single celebrity mothers who have decided to give a child a home.
Denise Richards, Sandra Bullock, Sheryl Crow and Madonna have all gone down this route.
Of course, the original was Angelina Jolie who adopted her son Maddox before she started a relationship with Brad Pitt.
