She was faced with a tough decision earlier this month when she called time on her relationship with her ex-fianc and the father of her child, Alex Reid.

But determined to move on with her life and step up to the challenges that she has to now has to take on as a single mother, Chantelle Houghton was pictured on Thursday out and about in Essex.

The 29-year-old was seen as she used one hand to push her baby girl Dolly in her stroller and held several shopping bags in her other.

Chantelle, who looked downcast, popped into Boots and Mothercare – no doubt to restock on goods for her precious little girl.

Dressed down, the make-up free blonde wore a pair of tan Ugg boots with a black top and a jeans.

Back at the home which she used to share with Alex, the former Celebrity Big Brother star struggled to get all her carrier bags through the front door in one go.

She was also seen unloading a large rectangular box from the back of her car, along with Dolly's pushchair.

Chantelle had recently admitted to her New! Magazine column that she is struggling with the split.

She said: 'People have said I'm looking slim but I don't know why because I'm living on takeaways. I love Nando's, Indian, Chinese food and pizza – I just don't have time to make dinners from scratch.

'I was a size 10 before I got pregnant and now I'm a 14. My belly's really flabby but I really don't care right now.'

Meanwhile on Tuesday, Alex spent time looking at luxury Ferraris as he deals with the breakdown of his relationship with Chantelle.

The cage fighter cut a solitary figure as he visited the upmarket car boutique Sparks in West London, where he viewed several posh motors.

He
poured over the finer details of the vehicles for more than an hour,
but his publicist insists he was only looking at the cars – and not
buying.

His spokesperson tells MailOnline: 'He hasn't bought a Ferrari. The showroom's next door to his gym.

'He popped in to have a look because he loves Ferraris. He was genuinely having a look, but he hasn't bought anything.'

Alex's afternoon at the showroom comes in a
dramatic week for the star, who filmed an emotional video plea in a bid
to win back Chantelle's heart.

The
clip, released on Now Magazine's website, is just over a minute long
and sees Alex make an impassioned bid for the former couple to sort out
their problems for the sake of three-month-old daughter Dolly.

He
pleaded: 'Chantelle, I love you, I really love Dolly and I really want
us to work. But things really have to change. There's been so many
untruths said, and I feel if I don't say something, it's going to get
worse and worse. Things have to change.

'You can't keep venting your anger to
me in your column. Every couple argues but you don't need to tell the
world our problems. I know you love me. I hope you love me. Let's sort
this out.'
