They are engaged to be married – but
if Chantelle Houghton and Alex Reid think that their nuptials will match
the Royal Wedding last year, they may be a little ambitious.
Nevertheless, the couple, who are
expecting a baby this summer, chanelled the royal couple during a
photoshoot on new TV series The Exclusives this week.
As part of a task for the rookie
reporters on the ITV2 programme, the reality stars posed in a carriage
and waved to imaginary crowds.
In your dreams! Chantelle Houghton and Alex Reid dress up as Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge on their wedding day for a photoshoot on TV show The Exclusives
Pregnant Chantelle wore a brunette
wig, but her dress is decidedly less glamorous than the Alexander
McQueen creation made famous by the Duchess of Cambridge.
The wannabe journalists were set the
challenge of re-creating an iconic royal photograph for the Jubilee with
the couple for Closer magazine, but they ran into trouble when they
failed to find a replica wedding dress for Chantelle to wear.
Rookie Christopher Goddard decides
instead to make one the night before the shoot using a piece of lace,
some nail scissors and a travel sewing kit.
Regal: The couple didn't quite pull off the iconic scenes
next day he has to confess to only having a top for Chantelle to wear
and he had to fasten it to her with bulldog clips. Chantelle
says: 'I look worse than the princess in Shrek.'
The scenes are to air tonight at 9pm.
Off-camera, Chantelle and Alex were not quite so pleased to have their photograph taken when they were spotted today in London.
It was the first time the couple were
pictured together since their brief split last week, but they did not
appear in the best of moods.
Not ready for your close up Alex and Chantelle did not appeared so enamoured to be spotted today
Miss Houghton is understood to have walked out on Alex after catching him dressing up as his alter ego Roxeanne.
A source told New! magazine: 'Chantelle returned home to find Alex dressed as his alter-ego Roxanne. He was indulging his fantasies and there were sex toys in the house. His eyes were “wild and scary” and he looked strange. She’d never seen him like that before.
'She was so shocked and disgusted that she immediately returned to her old flat nearby. She was so desperate to get away from him that she had no choice but to sleep in an unfurnished flat.'
The couple have since reconciled and are living under the same roof again.
