Oh Carol! Here's how to get the bed head right
Carol Vorderman took centre stage in a heated debate this week after appearing on ITV’s Loose Women on Monday with a messy ‘bedhead’.
While her look caused a storm of criticism on Twitter, the laid-back style has always had a legion of followers — from Brigitte Bardot to Goldie Hawn.
Salon director Paul Edmonds says the mussed-up mane is an iconic look — when it’s done right.

Rough dry your hair, lifting it at the roots with your fingers. Use straightening irons to add waves to sections under the hair and leave top sections smooth. For extra volume, spray a dry shampoo into the roots of your hair. While backcombing your hair at the roots can also add texture and lift, it can look too unkempt and messy on older women.
Women under 30 can get away with scruffy hair, but if you’re more mature, try a pared down version of the look. Keep the rest of your look carefree, too. Think more Marianne Faithfull than Marilyn Monroe.
