'Who are you anyway' Simon Cowell's catty comment to Alesha Dixon during Britain's Got Talent auditions

Alesha Dixon was left fuming after Simon Cowell insulted her during Britain's Got Talent auditions, asking 'Who are you anyway'
The catty comment was met with gasps and boos from the audience in Birmingham when the pair joined fellow judges Amanda Holden and David Walliams on Sunday.
Alesha reportedly 'laid into' Simon behind the scenes after the public attack.
At war: Alesha Dixon and Simon Cowell apparently rowed at the Birmingham Britain's Got Talent auditions when he asked her: 'Who are you anyway'
The row started when dance group Lil’ Diamondz – who won Alesha’s Street Dance Stars on CBBC in September – auditioned for BGT, according to the Daily Mirror.
The 33-year-old told her co-stars they 'hadn’t let her down' but Simon responded with: 'What a silly comment to make. That’s a silly thing to say, Alesha.'
He apparently went on to say: 'Sorry, who are you, anyway'
The comment is confusing considering it was Simon who lured the former Mis-Teeq singer from BBC's Strictly Come Dancing for the ITV show with a 350,000 package.
That's who she is: Alesha was a judge on Strictly Come Dancing, with Craig Revel Horwood, Len Goodman and Bruno Tonioli, before she was lured to ITV by Simon
A source told the paper: 'Alesha obviously felt slighted. Everybody could tell because she clammed up and looked really embarrassed.
'Simon was reclining in his usual manner and didn’t seem bothered that he had just caused so much upset.
'Alesha was determined not to cause a scene in front of the audience but she really let rip behind closed doors.”
'It was humiliating for Alesha that Simon suggested she is a nobody.
'“This is especially the case when only a few months ago she was happily on another judging panel and Simon made it clear he wanted to poach her.'
Her beginnings: Alesha was in Mis-Teeq, which had seven top 10 UK singles, with Su-Elise Nash and Sabrina Washington
The source added: 'She told her friends that she felt his dig had been ‘out of order’ and stormed off to her dressing room.
'She is not another Kelly Brook in this situation and knows that what she says on the panel is valid.'
Kelly, 32, was sensationally axed as a judge after just a week on the show in 2009.
A source close to Simon told the Mirror: 'He never intended to slight Alesha – it was all harmless banter.
'He always bickers with his fellow judges. It’s light-hearted fun which is just part of the show.
'By the next day’s auditions Alesha saw the funny side.'
Lil’ Diamondz received four yeses from the judges and were taken through to the next round.
