Beer-eautiful! Brewery raises a glass to new hops-flavoured lip balm
Beer in beauty form: Sierra Nevada Brewing Co has created a hops lip balm
They say beer can improve many a man or woman's looks.
But a new beer-flavoured lip balm promises do the same without a drop of the amber nectar passing either's lips.
Popular among ale aficionados, Sierra Nevada Brewing Co has now turned its hand to cosmetics and has created a hops and mint-flavoured lip gloss.
Though it's perhaps not a product usually associated with beer-drinkers, the balm joins the Californian brewery's famous range of Pale Ale, Kellerweis and Stout beers.
The company's site says that hops is added to the brews to give them their 'fragrant bouquet and spicy flavour' – a characteristic we imagine will give the lippy a distinctive pub aroma, too.
According to Racked, the moisturiser costs $1.
We'll drink to that: Hops-flavoured lip balm, on sale for $1, is one way to enjoy beer aromas without a hangover, we imagine
The mountain brewery may be on to something – hops has been found to have beneficial effects on hair and skin, an attribute that is partly down to its antibiotic nature.
The craft brewery has been brewing annual and seasonal beers since 1980 and enjoys a firm following among beer drinkers.
Only time will tell whether it will also become a go-to for the beauty set.
