I have a regular cleansing, toning and moisturising routine. I lead a very busy life and don’t have a lot of time, so my skincare needs to be easy and portable. I use Derma-logica’s Gentle Cream Exfoliant (36,, a non-abrasive treatment that removes dead skin cells, and the Active Moist Moisturizer (28.50), which is light, oil-free and can be used under foundation. For repair, I use Shiseido Benefiance Pure Retinol Instant Treatment Mask (56.60 for 12,, which instantly makes me feel fresh and glowing.

Since January I’ve been using Astalift Jelly Aquarysta (71,, which is a new moisturiser by FujiFilm, who have applied their understanding of the process of oxidation during film processing to skincare products. It is especially good if you have dull skin, as it makes it look younger and more plumped up. It is a clear, orange jelly and has made a very noticeable difference to my complexion — so much so, that people have even commented on how great my skin looks. I have been using it every day and night — you have to be patient, but you will see a difference with this.

I am still experimenting with eye creams, but one of the best I have used is Creme de la Mer Eye Balm Intense (125, house, which is expensive, but you need to use only the tiniest amount. My pot has lasted about two years.

My best trick for perking up tired eyes is to use a spray of Optrex ActiMist 2-in-1 Eye Spray for Tired & Uncomfortable Eyes (15.31, supermarkets and chemists nationwide from May). This is a fine mist, which you spray on top of eye make-up and it won’t make your mascara run or cause smudges. In fact, it even revives make-up and contains vitamin B5, which is very moisturising.

Water — I drink gallons of it! You can use the most luxurious skincare products in the world, but they won’t work as well if you do not hydrate from inside. I also like to spray water directly on to my face for instant hydration. Try Evian Facial Spray (3.49, for the 50ml handbag size, Boots).

My mother introduced me to Sudocrem (2.11, Boots). A pot lasts for ages, and can be used to calm acne-prone skin, soothe irritations on the body or face, as an aftersun, or for dry patches on elbows or knees. You can use this cream anywhere — it is great for healing. I used it on spots when I was a teenager and still use it today. I am yet to find any product on the market that works as well.

Whether you shave, wax, use
depilatory cream, or are having electrolysis or laser treatment, Arezoo
Kaviani, one of the UK’s top hair removal experts, reveals that you can
get the best results by making sure the area you are treating is free
from any lotions, oils or moisturisers.

‘Scrub your skin by dry brushing,
exfoliating or using a loofah — do this a night before, to make your
skin less sensitive,’ she suggests. ‘To reduce red bumps and irritation,
avoid hot baths, showers, saunas, steam rooms or swimming on the day of
any hair removal. And, afterwards, it is best not to use perfumed
lotions or creams — stick to those which contain tea tree, aloe vera or

Arezoo recommends the new Veet
EasyWax Electrical Roll-On Kit (29.99, available in stores nationwide).
It has a self-heating electrical wax system with a roll-on applicator

Puffy eyes are one of the most common problems
for both men and women. Eye creams sometimes exaggerate puffiness in
this area, but some people find switching to a gel with a lightweight
texture more effective.

Applied lightly every morning and before bed, this new eye gel from
cosmetics queen Laura Mercier helps to reduce the appearance of
puffiness and dark circles.

For best results, Mercier suggests gently
patting a tiny amount from the outer to the inner corner of the
under-eye area. Used sparingly after a sleepless night, eyes look
visibly brighter and wide awake.

Most experts will tell you there is
no cure for cellulite and that the best way to combat it is with
exercise, drinking plenty of water and good old-fashioned dry-body
brushing. Despite this, there’s always a new cellulite-busting product
boasting impressive results. After four weeks of using Soap &
Glory’s new formula Sit Tight Intense XS (16.50, Boots), testers report
that skin looked firmer, tighter and less dimply.

The cream, which
features a new roller for easy application, contains a multi-active
drainage-stimulating blend of caffeine and xymenic acid (from sandalwood
seeds) to target bloating. And it even claims to work even when you are
sitting at your desk!

Boots has also brought out a new
cellulite treatment with a roller applicator — No  7 Smooth &
Improve (22, Boots), which contains active ingredients such as
sandalwood, caffeine and Pro-vitamin A. It is said results can be seen
within 28 days.
