THE SPORTY DAD
Issey Miyake Sport (from 38.50, Debenhams): This fresh scent is perfect to use after exercising. With notes of citrus and vetiver, its light, zesty notes are warmed by long- lasting notes of cedarwood.
Boss Bottled Sport (from 28.50, theperfumeshop.com): A more invigorating, energetic scent, this has a tangy, slightly fruity note with grapefruit and pink peppercorn. A subtle scent of lavender and cardamom makes it masculine, yet warm and sensous.
Polo Sport Blue by Ralph Lauren, (from 43, harrods.com): An aromatic, citrus scent that is long-lasting without being overpowering. The first notes of this scent is a zesty combination of frosted mint, mandarin and apple. Woody base notes of musk and oak moss make it distinctive and warming.
Givenchy Play Sport (from 39.50, Debenhams): A lighter version of the best-selling Play, this comes in a tactile frosted bottle and has fiery undertones of Amyris wood with fresh top notes of bergamot, mint and ginger. This is very different from the original, and a great one for summer.

La Nuit de L’Homme Frozen Cologne (38, House of Fraser): A beautiful new scent from Yves Saint Laurent, this combines the citrus base of traditional cologne — lemon, mandarin and bergamot — with black pepper and geranium, making it fresher than the original La Nuit de L’Homme. The woody base is long-lasting and sensual.
Ed Hardy Villain For Him (from 27, Boots): The newest fragrance from Ed Hardy has has notes of Italian bergamot, French lavender and spicy Egyptian basil. What’s more, it also has brilliant packaging. It comes in a colourful tin, and the embossed bottle is fantastic.
Guerlain L’Eau Boisee (46, John Lewis): Based on responsibly-sourced vetiver from Southern India, this is a sultry, woody scent — even the cap is made from ash from sustainably-managed European forests. A warmer version of Homme L’Eau, this is perfect for long, warm summer evenings.
THE COOL DAD
Paco Rabanne Black XS L’Exces (41, Boots): This comes in a unique black, silver and red bottle and has an aromatic scent with amber wood and patchouli. The bottle has a skull watermark for extra ‘rock dad’ attitude.
Superdry Steel (from 29.50, superdry.com): This new travel-sized fragrance is as stylish as you’d expect from the clothing label Superdry. It’s a light yet woody fragrance with notes of lime, cardamom and cedarwood.
Acqua di Parma Bergamotto Di Calabria (70, John Lewis): Part of a new Blu Mediterraneo collection of five scents, this has sparkling citron notes with red ginger, cedarwood and musk.

Original Penguin for Men (32.50, thefragranceshop.co.uk): A light-hearted scent from the U.S. clothing label, this is set to be a huge hit this summer. With a fragrant base, golden apples are combined with spicy black pepper and fresh pine needle to make a unique, long-lasting scent.
Z Zegna (52, harrods.com): For men who like understated yet distinctive scents, this is perfect. Its initial notes of white pepper, bergamot and rosemary fade to a warmer, manly scent that lasts all day.

Thierry Mugler A’Men Pure Shot Eau de Toilette (47.50, The Perfume Shop): This fragrance demands he ‘dare to be different’. It is both invigorating and cooling, with a kick of mint, juniper and spicy pepper. Perfect for a summer wake-up call.

Yardley Citrus and Wood Eau de Toilette (12.50, Boots): A well-priced range for the man who enjoys a gentlemanly citrus scent. The bottle is fuss-free and the scent will be appreciated by the man who likes to smell fresh, yet traditionally masculine.

JOIN THE MASCARATHON!
Make-up company Benefit is hosting a
‘Mascarathon’ – a nationwide fun run which aims to raise awareness for
Refuge, the charity which helps women who have suffered domestic
violence. Xtra Factor presenter Caroline Flack kicks off the relay
tomorrow in Edinburgh by running the first two miles. In honour of
Benefit’s bestseller They’re Real Mascara, a giant mascara ‘baton’ will
be passed from runner to runner. The 500-mile run culminates in
