He's well known for his love of fast cars and exotic vehicles.
And it appears that amidst the stress of the X Factor US auditions, Simon Cowell is finding refuge in one of his fancy toys.
The Syco mogul, 52, was spotted taking a three wheel motorbike – a Can-Am Spyder – for a spin in Beverly Hills yesterday.
Feeling better: Simon Coweel looked in great spirits as he took his three-wheeled motorbike out for a spin in Beverly Hills yesterday
Clearly impatient to get out onto the road, Simon wasn't even wearing shoes, and drive the vehicle barefoot.
He was otherwise dressed perfectly for the warm weather, in white shorts and a matching T-shirt.
Simon sensibly adhered to safety requirements by wearing a helmet.
Couldn't wait: Impatient Simon wasn't even wearing shoes- though he sensibly put a helmet on
He looked as though he was having a great time, taking the bike for a gentle spin around the neighbourhood.
Though unusual, the bike was a little more low-key than some of his other famous toys.
Simon famously splashed out a million dollars on a Bugatti Veyron in 2008, adding to his already impressive fleet of luxury vehicles.
Dressed for the weather: Simon was cool in a white T-shirt and matching shorts
With an excess of 1000 horsepower, the Veyron – built by Volkswagen – has top speed of 253.81 mph (408.47 km/h).
In an interview with Top Gear he waxed lyrical about his 300,00 Rolls Royce, saying: 'It's the most beautiful, most comfortable, best-engineered car ever built. I can hardly bring myself to say it but it's – oh, sod it! – perfect.'
Simon's recently been taken ill with bronchitis, so perhaps this outing is an indication that he is starting to feel better.
Taking it easy: Simon just went for a quick spin around the local area
He is said to be receiving daily updates about how the audition process of his TV baby US X Factor is going.
In particular the music mogul has been monitoring new judge Britney Spears and the show's producers have expressed their concern about her behaviour after she walked out of another audition.
Cowell is allegedly concerned that he has made a 10million mistake by signer the pop singer to the show.
Keeping updated: Simon has been receiving regular reports on how the X Factor panel are doing
New fears arose after the 30-year-old singer left her seat on the judging panel, as did her fellow judges L.A. Reid, Demi Lovato and covering for Simon Louis Walsh, after a rude contestant took to the stage.
The performer, who a member of the audience revealed 'had a bad attitude', was promptly taken off the stage and Louis, L.A. and Demi all returned to their seats but Britney failed to make a reappearance until the second filming session.
It was recently revealed that the singer suffers from Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, but is unable to take medication for it.
Managing without him Louis Walsh stood in for Simon at auditions while he was ill, alongside LA Reid, Britney Spears and Demi Lovato
Despite the fact that Simon was made fully aware of Spears' medical history, the source added: 'Britney is getting 10million to appear and it could be the biggest gamble Simon has ever made.'
Responding to recent reports that she has proved to be an 'incredibly tough' judge to please, Britney took to her Twitter account to let her followers know what the deal really was.
Her tweet read, 'It's all tough love…..I promise!' and then she posted the link to the story on People website which claims she is matching up to Simon Cowell's ways.
