Baptiste Giabiconi told a magazine last year that he had his sights set firmly on singer Katy Perry and now it seems the French male model has secured his prey.
A rep for Ms Perry told the New York Post today that she and the model are in fact ‘feeling it out…
spending a lot of time together.’ The confirmation arrives less than three months after comedian Russell Brand filed for divorce from the blue-haired mega star.
But who is the ambitious stallion currently linked to the newly-separated princess of pop
Nice networking: It took Karl Largerfeld's network and savvy guidance to turn Baptiste Giabiconi into the star he's becoming. He's seen here with Katy Perry and 'the Kaiser' at Paris Fashion Week 2012
Besides being the highest paid male model
in the world, the 22 year-old is also Karl Lagerfeld’s muse. Just
one year after he was signed by New York’s DNA Model
Management, the ever-enterprising clothing designer got the new model to close
Chanel’s spring 2009 show.
Although the Mr Giabiconi walked his first Chanel show in 2008 (the year he had signed to DNA), the grand placing cemented a new order in a powerful fashion hierarchy. The newcomer had officially stolen the limelight from the designer’s former male muse, Brad Kroenig, despite walking alongside Mr Giabiconi in the couture show.
It was also a remarkable privilege for the new It model considering the show featured several established models including Lara Stone and Freja Beha Erichsen.
The rising star did it again on the arm of model Abbey Lee Kershaw for Chanel's haute couture collection showing in 2010.
Mr Giabiconi is now the male face of Chanel and its eye wear range and is also a face for Fendi and Dior Homme.
Nowadays, closing for Chanel is just another day on the job.

Mr Lagerfeld continued to shine light onto his golden boy. He brought his muse over to the commercial world to model with Coco Rocha for a limited edition Coca Cola Light bottle in 2010.
The designer said of him, ‘[Baptiste is] a boy version of Gisele Bundchen.’
‘Skinny, skinny but with an athletic body. Good for clothes and great with no clothes.’
He also introduced the model to some of the world’s most influential fashion editors, photographing him for the pages of Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, V Man, Interview, Numero Homme, Elle, Purple and other titles.

Arguably one of Mr Giabiconi’s biggest coups came when he scored a modelling gig beside Kate Moss in the 2010 Just Cavalli campaign.
But Mr Lagerfeld continues to push Mr Giabiconi’s star higher.
He most recently modeled for the designer in a Roman warrior-inspired photo shoot for the pages of Numero Homme’s Spring Summer 2012 issue.
