A representative for Faris and husband Chris Platt told People.com: 'Anna Faris and Chris Pratt are happy to announce the birth of their beautiful baby boy Jack.

'He arrived earlier than expected and will be spending some time in the NICU.

'The happy parents thank you for your warm wishes and ask that you honour their privacy during this time.'

Yesterday Anna was photographed joining a
friend for a lunch date. Dressed in a red top and trousers, she kept

After marrying back 2009, the couple have always been open about their plans for starting a family.

Anna said: 'Chris wants a big family. I do want a lot of kids. We want to populate the world.'
