A modern-day muse: Alexa Chung channels Sixties siren Jane Birkin as face of hip French label Maje

Her seductive gaze and brunette bangs has helped Alexa Chung channel a young Jane Birkin for a new ad campaign.
The 28-year-old TV presenter has modeled French label Maje's fall collection for its new black and white ad campaign.
Inspired by cinematic heroins from the Sixties such as the ever-stylish 65-year-old, the moody images were snapped at Paris' Porte des Lilas subway station.

The effortless style of Ms Birkin, an British-born actress and singer who rose to fame during the era, has been mirrored in the new shoot.
Photographed by Glen Luchford, the images will be released in magazines in September.
It is one of a string of campaigns that Miss Chung has served as the face of.
She has posed for ads by Superga, Pepe Jeans, DKNY Jeans, Lacoste and Vero Moda in the past.
She has also collaborated on two fashion lines with the U.S. clothing chain Madewell.
Maje released a press release that stated: 'Elegant yet edgy, her attitude reflects a personality that is both glamorous
and rock 'n' roll'.

The British It girl is in good company as she becomes the brand's new face.
It previously collaborated with Vanessa Traina, who is the model daughter of author Danielle Steele.
Ms Traina had even designed a capsule collection for Maje and appeared in multiple campaigns.
Given her past record, it would surprise few if Miss Chung were to announce she was also planning on designing a line for Maje.
But there is no sign of such deal yet.
The signing is further proof that Miss Chung's style queen status remains securely in tact.
